Doula Services
I am pleased that Peaceful Beginnings Doula Services (PBDS) can offer:

Initial Consultation:
Our initial phone conversation is free of charge. It is at this time that you can ask me any questions or express any concerns you might have about your pregnancy and upcoming birth. Please ask whatever you wish, I want you to make the right choice in a Doula and that means deciding on someone you feel comfortable with.
- Email and phone consultation are free of charge. Our first get to know you meeting is free of charge if you come to my house. I charge a $25, non-refundable fee if I come to your home or another location. This fee is applied to your fee if you choose me as your doula.
Birth Doula Services:
My Birth Doula Services incorporate a wide range of assistance and attention. Think of me as your support system in helping you to make the right choices for you and your family. Once you decide what type of birth you want, I spring into action with the tools, information, education, and support needed to make it happen. I also will help you plan for the “what ifs”.
- One to two prenatal visits are included in my services. It is up to you how many you need. If at any point you need to see me over and above this number, please see “Additional Services” below.
- I will help guide and direct you in writing an effective birth plan, an essential part to any birth.
- I will provide continuous support during your labor and birth. I will be there to help you through your contractions in whatever way I can, which includes but is not limited to: massage, positioning, and use of my(or your) birth ball and rice socks.
- I will assist you with the initial latch on and breastfeeding of your newborn baby and make sure that you are clear on the basics before I leave (alot can be forgotten during labor/birth).
- I also offer one postpartum visit. It is your choice where you would like me to visit you, either in the place of birth or in your home.
- You can expect unlimited phone support before, during and after labor/birth.
- I will be “On Call” 24 hours a day beginning 2 weeks prior to your due date, so you do not have to worry about me being out of town!
- Birth Photography
I will take pictures of your birth either using a disposable camera or my digital camera (if this is something you want)
Postpartum Doula Services
My Postpartum Doula Services are intended to help you, as a new mother adjust to your new baby and routines, as well as allow you the time to simply be with your newborn.
- I will provide you whatever support you deem necessary to make your life easier.
- I will help care for your newborn, as well as any of his/her siblings.
- I will ensure that your breastfeeding relationship with your newborn is proceeding as it should and provide any support needed.
- You can expect me to help with some light housekeeping so that you are not bothered or worried about, “dishes in the sink”.
- I can also do any errands that are necessary for the family.
- I can help with light meal preparations so that mom and baby and can bond and not worry about it.
- I will provide information and education on any subject pertaining to labor/birth/newborns.
Additional Services:
- Additional prenatal or postpartum visits (on a per hour basis)
